Crisis Response

Our Nationally Certified Crisis Response Team is a diverse group of dedicated community volunteers who provide emotional support at homicide scenes while assisting law enforcement, local hospitals and the Peoria County coroner's office to de-escalate emotionally charged situations.  They have completed extensive training, including but not limited to: NOVA's basic 24 hour certification course,  the FBI's death notification certification course, extensive reading of peer reviewed journals on trauma, underserved communities and vicarious trauma.

PCAV staff lead the crisis response team.  They are also certified in NOVA's Advanced Crisis Response Training and FEMA's Basic Emergency Management.
